Secret Medication - Your Food
Once concept has always amazed me. Medication works in small quantities. Often with amazingly small quantities. In fact, a good majority (made up statistic) of pills are way way bigger than they need to be. The actual medication in an average pill is a small percentage of the pill's phsyical size. The rest is totally non medication filler, added simply so that the pill can be picked up and handled.
Medication is often referred to in miligrams or micrograms. Very tiny metric amounts.
Whether oir not this medication works to cure you, or help you in some way, it is hard to deny that these things do effect change in your bodies.
When we relate this concept to food, I have to wonder how much of what we eat every day is for nutrition, and how much of the food we digest is medication. We can't know exactly how food effects our bodies, but we certainly can't deny that nations who have different diets, have different bodies - and minds.
I wonder if smarter people than I, know more than they're telling us. We know about the basics of Vitamin A, B, C, D E and others, and that green foods and yellow foods have different purposes. We know quite a lot, but how much is there we don't know.
Apples could be sprayed with birth control, or anti-depressants and apple pie would become addictive. Foods eaten in certain neigbourhoods could be changed, or supplimented to curb violent behavior. Expencive foods could be better than cheaper foods in many ways, intentionally medicating the rich - or the poor.
