While serving on a jury in a serious criminal case, my Boss tried to reach me. The bailiff found me in the jury room and gave me the telephone message.
During lunch, the bailiff agreed I could call the Boss, but he would monitor the call. Shortly after we started talking, my Boss got nasty and demanded I return to work. He said, "If you're not in the office tomorrow, we'll send your final check to your house."
